we headed to Boise on Sunday so we could make it to our appointment with the pediatric gastrenterologist. i was a little nervous that he was going to say, sorry but you are just a crazy bad mom and you're child has colic gone wild. but instead after only one test he told us that jane has a milk protein allergy. he gave us a new amino based formula and said that she cannot have milk products for at least a year at which point we will come back to do a "milk challenge" to see if her body is ready for milk. i am sooo stoked! now i know what i can do to make jane a happy little girl and i know that my mother instincts were right, something deeper was wrong. we are so happy and i think the formula is already helping. by the way, the doctor said i could breast feed, but the list of things that i couldn't eat is 3 pages long, and i think the formula is the safest thing at this point. you never know where milk will sneak into. anyway, words cannot express how grateful i am that we went to boise and got this figured out. i have been a nut for almost three months now, but i finally feel like i am in control again. within 2 weeks jane should be a very content girl. wahoo!

emma hasn't stayed in a hotel since she was 9 mo. old so she was quite excited. she jumped on the beds, watched tv till she fell asleep, and it was just fun to see the simple joy she had.

"don't mess with me" says jane. what a cutie.

emma is a hoot! she went to the closet and said excitedly "this looks like a good place to sleep." funny little girl. she put her pillow and blankets there but did end up sleeping on a bed.

it's a derek dreamland. we found this car lot that pretty much had a ton of old nasty cars. derek loves cars. apparently the guy working there wasn't interested in selling old nasty cars. when derek went to open the door to the place the guy came over and locked it! funny funny.
we also got to visit derek's cousin and his wife (jeremy and natalie) and their new little baby hallie brooke. she is adorable and we got to be the first family members to see her in person. thanks for the enchiladas guys!
well, both girls are asleep which means in less than ten minutes i will be as well!

YAYAYAY for finding out what Baby Jane needs. That would be really hard to cut out all milk products from your diet, so I'm glad there is some sort of formula that she can take that will get her nice and full and healthy. Woohoo!
Congratulations! I'm glad the doctor was able to figure out the problem so quickly. I hope Jane will be a happy little girl in no time at all.
Great! I hope everyone can be happier now, and now poor Jane's tummy won't hurt anymore! :)
